To give you a wee taster of the area here is a collaboration I did with local poet Jo Gilbert (who writes beautifully in the Doric dialect of the North East of Scotland) and local photographer Elliott Hepworth (who travels widely around Aberdeenshire expertly capturing the area’s rich and diverse landscape). Here together are our responses to the North East of Scotland, a love letter to the place we call ‘hame’:

Elliott Hepworth is a photographer based locally in Aberdeen. He is a keen and experienced hillwalker whose photographs beautifully and honestly capture the drama and light unique to the North East of Scotland.

Jo Gilbert is by her own description an, ‘Avid scribbler of words. Spoken Word Artist and Writer fae Aiberdeen.’ She kindly gave me permission to use ‘ Fa We Are’ her poem and a love letter to The North East written in the local Doric dialect.

David Williamson Composer/Trombone/flugelhorn/pianist Multi-talented musician and composer with an impressive roster of musicians he has worked with including: Mumford and Sons, Blur, Taylor Swift, George Michael, The Foo Fighters, Michael Buble, Incognito and Duran Duran. David composed the fantastic music for The Clearing. Do many holiday homes (or galleries for that matter) have their own theme tune? We like to think, thanks to David, that we are the first!
